March & April 2024: Workshops with Lou Sarabadzic
We are thrilled to welcome back Lou Sarabadzic, one of the keynote speakers at our 2023 Conference, for more events at WiF UK-Ireland!
Lou will lead two workshops in spring 2024: one on creative writing, and one on academic publishing in French. These events will be chaired by our PG Reps Ally and Emma. The first session is open to all scholars in French and Francophone Studies, as a ‘taster’ session of what the WiF UK-Ireland community has to offer. We warmly invite PGRs and ECRs in particular to join us for this event, and encourage those attendees who are not yet members of the Association to sign up with us for access to future events. The second session will be open to all registered members of WiF UK-Ireland, and both will have a limited number of places. More information on these sessions, including how to sign up, can be found on our dedicated event page here.
December 2023: PGR/ECR Showcase: Feminist Futures
Our PGR Reps, Emma Flynn and Ally Pugh, are delighted to announce the inaugural WiF UK-Ireland Postgraduate and Early Career Researcher Showcase. This event has its own dedicated webpage, where you can read the call for papers and find out more about how to attend this event, which will take place online on Friday 1st December 2023. The showcase will be open to both WiF members and PGRs/ECRs who are not yet members (although joining the Association is warmly encouraged).
November 2023: Postponed Despentes Panel
Due to unexpected circumstances, our much-anticipated panel on crisis in the work of Virginie Despentes had to be postponed at our recent conference in Leeds. However, we are delighted to inform our members that the panel has been rescheduled, and will now take place online on the 1st November at 4pm UK time.
PGR Rep Emma Flynn will chair this event, featuring papers from WiF UK-IRE members Michèle Schaal and Dominique Carlini-Versini. Abstracts are available to read below.
This event is open to all, and we warmly invite all attendees who are not yet members of WiF UK-IRE to join the Association in order to attend similar events in the future. Zoom details will be shared with all attendees in due course. Please sign up at our dedicated Eventbrite page here. Please disregard the note that there are only 25 tickets available; this is just part of the Eventbrite settings, and you can always email us directly for access to the event.
